Finca El Rincon De Clunia
The tempranillo grapes for Finca El Rincon De Clunia are selected in three stages: on the vineyard during manual harvest, during the selection of the best bunches, and on the vibrating table during the selection of the best berries and eradication of all green portions.
Prior to fermentation, the grapes are held in a cold chamber at a semi-freezing temperature to break down the skin cells and increase colour and fragrance extraction during maceration and fermentation. Pre-fermentative maceration at 4oC for 2 days, then alcoholic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks with natural chosen yeasts for 7 to 10 days, followed by 13 days of post-fermentative maceration.
A total of 21 days were spent on winemaking. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels with bâttonage on the lees.
The Clunia is matured in French oak barrels for 18 months to give depth to the wine while preserving the aromas and flavours of the grape varietal.
Tasting Note
A deep red Burlat cherry colour with an astonishing variety of smells of red and black fruit, such as currants, nectarines, blackberries, and cassis, wonderfully mixed with spice hints, chocolate, silky toast notes, cream, and cinnamon, create an excellent bouquet.
The warm palate shows the strength of the fruit flavours once again. It has a lot of concentration and refinement, which, combined with the sweet tannins, makes for a lengthy and delightful finish on the palate. A wine that is both complex and elegant.
