The Distilling Process
Brecon Special Reserve Gin’s delicate flavour starts with a base of locally-sourced wheat spirit. This is distilled in Penderyn’s unique copper pot still along with a carefully selected blend of 10 botanicals. These include juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, fresh citrus peel, and cassia bark. The result is a complex, yet wonderfully balanced gin.
Tasting Notes
The aroma reveals piney juniper and zesty citrus layered over earthy angelica root.
The palate is smooth and rounded with juniper upfront leading to traces of spice, liquorice and orange peel.
The finish is crisp and dry with lingering citrus and warm pepper notes.
