The Production Method

Beefeater follows a traditional London Dry gin production method that has changed little since the 1800s. It starts by redistilling neutral grain spirit in a copper pot still along with juniper, coriander, Seville oranges, lemon peel, licorice and other botanicals. Only the Master Distiller knows the exact recipe. The gin is then cut to bottling strength using pure water from an on-site well that lies beneath the distillery.

Beefeater has preserved the traditional techniques of soaking botanicals in “gin baskets” and keeping the stills small to maintain optimal flavour extraction. Additionally, Beefeater is one of the only major gin brands to still bottle its spirit at the original distillery in the heart of London. This dedication to tradition ensures a consistent, quality flavour.

Tasting Notes
