After a challenge from their wives back in 2015, The Wrecking Coast Distillery came to be, and it’s been a personal passion project for the chaps ever since.
Born in Tintagel, their philosophy remains the same: create spirits they enjoy using local ingredients that give the nod to their Cornish roots.
To make their award-winning creations, they use a unique blend of cutting edge still technology and a more bespoke, hands-on approach.
They believe it’s this balance of approach and close attention to detail that makes all the difference when creating their distinctive spirits. It’s this passion that means thry can proudly say “we made that”
It started with the desire for an identity that was rooted in the area where their gin was born: Tintagel, Cornwall. Tintagel resides in an area known as The Wrecking Coast, a name they have embraced.
In the height of summer, with its soft southerly winds, clear blue skies and almost tropical aquamarine seas, The Wrecking Coast is idyllic. In the depths of winter, with 30-foot waves crashing relentlessly against the towering slate and granite cliffs, the true power and majesty of raw nature is awe inspiring.
To capture this, they commissioned local artist and Camelford Gallery owner, John Blight, to provide them with the unique piece of art that appears on our labels.
