Chateau de Belleverne Chenas is produced by Domaine de Belleverne, an 18th century estate located in the heart of the Beaujolais region of France. The current owners have worked tirelessly since the 1970s to restore this historic property and its vineyards to their former glory.
Viticulture and Vinification
The old vines for Chateau de Belleverne Chenas are planted in the highly regarded Chenas Cru on steep, granite hillsides. Hand-harvesting and strict grape selection ensure only the very best fruit makes it into this Beaujolais. Traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques are employed, including partial whole-bunch fermentation and ageing in large oak foudres.
Tasting Notes
Chateau de Belleverne Chenas displays a bright ruby hue in the glass.
Intense aromas of red berries, wild strawberry, plums, cinnamon and white pepper emanate from the glass.
The palate shows remarkable complexity with layers of juicy red berry fruit, subtle savoury notes and velvety tannins through the long finish.
