To create the Port Charlotte 10 Year Old, the distillers begins by selecting the finest Scottish barley, which is then malted on-site using traditional floor maltings. The malt is then expertly mashed and fermented using pure spring water sourced from Islay’s underground aquifer.
Following fermentation, the whisky is distilled in Bruichladdich’s classic copper pot stills, ensuring the rich and distinctive character is captured at every stage of production. Maturation takes place in a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks, second-fill French wine casks, and further aging in hand-selected oak barrels.
